Dear Members and Guests,
On behalf of the city of Heilbronn I want to express a warm welcome to all delegates of this important meeting. We are proud to host the 31st Congress of the Society of Minimally Invasive Therapy under the guidance of Professor Rassweiler as president. The idea of this meeting fits excellently into the philosophy of the city of Heilbronn: The close collaboration of engineers with doctors as well as the exchange of medicine with industry. Interestingly, several engineers who are actively involved in this meeting have been educated at the Institutes of Medical Informatics in our University of Applied Sciences here in Heilbronn.
Beside this, Heilbronn has a lot to offer to its visitors. You will enjoy the famous wines cultivated in our area during the welcome reception in the Wine Villa. However, you may also walk through the National Garden Show, which will be our highlight this year. Not only at the Technology Night our brand-new science centre “experimenta” invites you to novel ways of technological education. Of course you may also just take it easy and enjoy the riverside of the Neckar.
Together with the organizers, I wish the SMIT-Meeting the best success providing exchange of the most recent technologies in the field of medicine and with the session “Medicine 2030” also a glimpse into the future. I am sure, that Heilbronn - as Seoul last year and Chicago next year will offer an optimal platform and creative atmosphere.
